Description

Artwork created by Cornelia Petrea on canvas.

Acrylic, mixed media and collage painting

This painting was created in 2016. Type of the painting is abstract and the materials used are acrylic and mixed media paints, resin and collage elements on canvas stretched on a wooden frame.
The inspiration for this artwork comes from the world around me and the events and issues that shape it. The intention of the piece is to explore the passage of time and how it effects the structure and fragility of life, where without attention and care, those aspects that mean the most begin to deteriorate and decay.
Generally I select my materials and processes based on the needs of the task at hand. I use them to find the best combination in order to achieve the desired result. I prefer using materials that allow for rapid application so as to capture the initial outline of the concept of the project. Once this is complete, I then set about adding layers and texture to the image until it is complete.

Painting abstracts allows the pure emotion that I feel while creating the work to be transmited, to speak directly to the soul and heart without anything getting in the way. Cornelia Petrea’s official website: www.corneliagallery.com – You will find here all the paintings from my Art-Collection .
