Artwork created by Cornelia Petrea on canvas.
These paintings were created in 2017.
Type of these paintings is abstract and the materials used are acrylic paint on canvas stretched on a wooden frame.
My inspiration comes from portals, gates in any structure that lets a person enter or exit. I wanted to give the appearance of dreamy and calmness. There is a bit of modeling paste to give some texture and markings. The soft blues of this painting titled “Hold my Breath” is based upon the definition of the word being relaxed, resting, and calming down. There are many different shades of blue that have changed the art scene. Cobalt Blue, Prussian Blue and more have expanded the blue palette for artists. Ultramarine is ultra chic!
The tranquil blues and composition suggest that all over the world on this planet, water is connected by the seven seas. Sometimes I feel the sea is sending us messages and waves started to looking like words.
It is finished with a thin matte varnish. The sides are painted a light aqua. The painting is wired and ready to hang.
